Hello

I’m Keitra (Ms. Kay),

I’m a former voice teacher, drama teacher and nanny with 12+ years of experience caring for children of all ages from newborns to teens inside and outside of classrooms and online. My passion lies in helping children discover their potential and showing them they are capable of independence, creativity, and confidence. As a Youth Enrichment Specialist, I believe true childcare begins when we teach our children how to care for themselves.

My Story

At the heart of my work is a simple truth: knowledge changes lives. My passion for teaching children and empowering families is rooted in my own experience of watching my mother face serious health challenges without the tools, information, or resources that could have made a difference. That realization became my why; the reason I am committed to helping families gain access to the kind of knowledge that preserves health, strengthens relationships, and builds resilience.

Over a decade ago, I began working with children, initially as a way to earn income during college. What I quickly discovered was that childcare was never just about keeping children safe; it was about supporting parents through their most pressing concerns. I listened to families share their struggles with tantrums, miscommunication, and the frustration that comes when children cannot yet fully express themselves. These conversations sparked my journey into early childhood communication, where I discovered the incredible impact of teaching sign language and early literacy skills to young children.

Research confirms what I saw firsthand: children as young as 6–8 months can begin learning sign language, which reduces frustration, improves bonding, and accelerates speech development. Toddlers exposed to early reading strategies and visual word recognition often demonstrate advanced communication skills and a stronger foundation for lifelong learning. These tools not only empower children, but also give parents confidence, clarity, and peace of mind.

Today, my work extends beyond language. I guide families in developing practical life skills; from scratch cooking to simple natural remedies; that nurture both body and mind. To me, these are not just “extra skills”; they are essential skills for wellbeing, legacy, and connection.

I believe every child deserves the gift of self-expression, and every parent deserves the confidence that comes from understanding and supporting their child’s growth. Whether I am introducing a baby to their first signs, helping a toddler recognize words, or teaching families how to bring joy into everyday self-care, my mission is clear: to ensure that families feel empowered, connected, and equipped with knowledge that truly lasts a lifetime.

This is not just my profession; it is my calling.
